Is there any civilian flights on a vintage B-17 Flying Fortress in my area that I can look up to surprise and treat my WWII veteran grandfather who once flew in a B-17 as a bombidier/navigator over axis Europe?

The Collings Foundation regularly flies a B-17 and a B-24 around the country, and they do allow flights in both for paying customers. You can find their web page and information on schedules that they have at the below link.

Check with the Confederate Air Force. They travel the country and sometimes offer flights in the bombers. The B-17 was a beautiful plane, by the way and the sound is unique.
