Could be many reasons WHY. Make an appointment with your gynecologist. If you prefer a woman to exam you, Ask for a woman Doctor or Physicians Assistant.

Hun, I don't think you'd be able to handle having children, LOL. If you have never had a pap smear before pregnancy, you will get very used to them while pregnant. In the beginning, the doctor does a complete checkup. In the last couple of months the doctor will check you each time to see if you are dilating. He/She will stick two fingers up there to check while pushing down on the belly a tiny bit.
Get over the fear of the Pap Smear. What do you prefer? A little inconvenience on being checked or possibly having a life threatening illness that kills you because you were too "uncomfortable" to get checked. You need it, hun. I agree, I hate them too, but I have also had two children so I know that they are necessary.

I think you should go to the doctor to get checked. You may have a condition such as what you mention. Sometimes not having your period for a long period of time could be from low blood iron levels or a serious condition. Plus, pap spears are not that bad, they do ask you some personal questions and when the doctor is performing the procedure, it's quick. (just close your eyes and hold your breath). Go to the doctor!

Pap smears get easier every time you get one. It is a necessity for women, and it sounds like exactly what you need.

Have you had sex recently? There may be a sexually transmitted disease that's interfering with it. Or, if you've never had regular periods, that's another possibility. If you excercise a lot, that can have an impact, as can stress.
See your doctor.
