..same question for the wives your husband or your child?

Oh ~
That is a horrifying thought. If I was the wife I would want my husband to rescue the children first b/c I couldn't bear leaving my children (if I had children) in danger while I was safe.
I would want to be rescued first only if, by doing so, my husband and I could more easily get the kids to safety.
If it was my husband, son and daughter that needed to be rescued, I would probably go with the same thought process.

I don't have a wife, but if I had a husband, I would not save him...he is older than the kids and they have a life ahead of them...now as for my son or daughter, I couldn't answer that...but I guess my decision wouldn't be a choice I made per say..it might be whoever was closer to me..as in distance to grab...or who was less hurt...or who was able to come to me when I say look out or call them over to safety...it's hard..my love for my kids wouldn't make me choose in a manner other that that child was in the right place at the right time....

It depends, here is the hiearchy breakdown. Depending on the situation you would probably think of this instantly. I am just going to say "son" arbitrarily so that I don't have to say "son or daughter" every time.
1. Wife is too old to have more children or is unable to have more children and it is your only son or daughter. - Save the child.
2. Wife is able to have more children and you have 2 or more children - save the wife
3. Wife is able to have more children and it is your only child - that one is tougher, still better to save the wife.
4. Wife is technically able to have children, but your son has children of his own. Save the son.
Ect ect there are many combinations but those are probably the main ones.

I would rescue my child first. I would hope my husband would do the same. The pull to save and protect a child is so strong I cannot imagine not saving my child first.

The youngest and still try to get any siblings first .As for spouse , ( most ) parents would give their life for their child / baby .I'd die trying ! As to know I could have a chance to save one , I'd do it ( start with the most helpless) , then I'd go again until all were safe or I'd die .As to see or hear any of my family needing rescuing , I surely never be right mentally again . What a sad question . I've placed myself in deaths arms way for my family , and you know if it happens , you just don't see or think about who's first , you think SAVE them .Ask a Fireman , they do it for a living , for people they never knew .Grab and run and go back .Some of them never save themselves . Again what a sad question .Hope you never are faced with this in your life .

The child. My wife and I would, in the course of our love, have already made this decision well in advance of the actual danger. The wife isn't going anywhere where she won't see you. Besides, if the roles were reversed, I would hope she'd make the same choice. Our lives have been lived, but the child is just beginning.

Because I don't have a husband or a son and have four daughter I would rescue from youngest to oldest because my baby is not strong enough to help her self. I would die trying to save each one of my girls because they are my life and there would be no life to live if I didn't have them anymore.

I would rescue my children....a husband can be replaced...a child can not! sorry but after all is said and done....husbands can divorce you but a child can't. Maybe that child won't talk to you but it takes a strong person to keep that relationship strong so that the no talk situation never happens.

My son first to carry on the name,next Daughter for my blood, then my wife cause then we could have more kids if the first two were mistakes.... YOU ASKED ;}

i would rescue my child first, because my husband could probably help himself better than the child, and no parent wants to out live their child.
