Oh, I could go on forever, but I'll give you best and worst:
Best: Microgestin/ (Brand name Loestrin) It's my favorite. I have a 3 day light period, and otherwise I feel normal. No weight gain, very predictable periods, helps with my migraines, etc. I will say that I really have no sex drive right now, but I think that is more to do with being tired from overworking than the pill, although the pill does have a little to do with it.
Worst: Ortho Tricyclen Lo. Screw that funk. Seriously... I felt pregnant! It started with tenderness in the chest area. Then I started getting worse migraines than normal and felt bloated. Then I would randomly start crying, and I DON'T CRY! My best friend said that I would have a mood swing the next day. Sure enough, I went from laughing to being so pissed about not finding the cover to the mini food processor that I threw the garbage can across the kitchen. My poor fiance had to try not to laugh while helping me pick up the garbage, because by that point, I was bawling. I went off it right then and there, and went back to my tried and true Loestrin/Microgestin. I haven't met one person that can handle OTCL, but who knows?
You may have to try several different ones to find one that fits. They normally say to wait 3 months to know it's true effects, but I wasn't even going to go there with OTCL. I've been back on Microgestin for about a year now, and I'm fine.
I stopped taking them for 3 years, and went back on them, with my new doc giving me OTCL. I finally called my old doc to find out what my old kind was, and he told me I was insane for trying OTCL. Apparently, they had me on all kinds of BC in high school, finally finding Loestrin. It really isn't prescribed anymore, but still available. I was on it more for medical reasons than anything, but still ... I think we went through 10 different kinds before finding one that worked.
Just be patient, and keep changing until you find one that lets you feel normal! :)
Edited to add: the person below mentioned depo, and I thought that I would tell you something that I heard last year. A girl that I was friends with had a best friend who died in high school. She slowly withered away while the doctors frantically tried to find out what was wrong with her. They found out, too late, that her Norplant (I believe that's what it's called -- implanted in the arm) was slowly leaking into her system and poisoning her. I've never heard of that happening before, but since it's possible, I thought that I would pass that on to you. I don't think Norplant is used much anymore, and this may very well be an isolated case, but thought I'd let you know just the same.
I also talked to a friend of mine that is on the patch. She said that she likes it well enough, and she just slaps in on her butt once a week or something like that and she's good to go .. showers with it and everything. I've never heard her say anything bad about it (negative side effects, etc), and she's been on it for .. mmm .. probably about 2 years now.

After being on the pill my libido went down drastically. It's like a double protection. I hardly have sex anymore, but when I do I've got the pill. >.< My periods were lighter. And perfectly predictable.
