Good things doesn't make the news like bad things. Always been that way.

I think they edit out the good news as a way of stating their personal opinions against the war. I think the media wants us to fail in the war on Iraq. They didn't want us to go other there in the first place.
I have meet a number of people who were stationed over there. Plenty of kind acts are committed in Iraq everyday. I have meet journalists who went over there and were sanctioned at every corner when reporting generosity.
Our soldiers have help a lot more people than they have hurt. Our aid reaches a lot more people than the media would have us believe.
We have stopped a ton of oppression, starvation, rape camps, and murders just by paying attention to the plight of these poor people.
I wish every country could be given a chance at freedom like Iraq has right now.
I also wish the media would stop sitting back and gloating every time that something went wrong in Iraq. I think their theme is a bomb goes off and it was "I told you so."
The hidden agenda for the media is "Just look the other way when the next aid shipment arrives from America."

I think this question has an agenda to imply there is more good than is reported. The media covered the elections, and Saddam not being in charge anymore. I've seen reports of a bridge being built near Tikrit, a dance school built, an ordinary school room, the marshes in the south being restored. The Bagdad ER, which could be a bad news/good news story (wounded soldiers getting good treatment). News by it's nature covers the bad stuff even locally.

First off in an area were people are being blown up, arrested, kidnapped, beheaded, raped and tortured on a daily basis I doubt it would be fair to report how somebody walked granny Smith across the street. It's not pretty over there and if things look grim on the news it is not because things are going well. They are not. If you weren't hearing any news about the place you can bet it was because there was nothing blowing up that day.

When was the last time you heard anything bad on the news about Bangor Maine? No news is good news.

Basically, no one is interested in "good" news. (Do you think people watch the Indy 500 because they LIKE to watch grass grow? No, Silly, they're waiting for a crash!) Ever since Viet Nam Americans seem to crave a little blood and guts with dinner.

But what could possibly be good about Iraq except to hear that we are pulling out of this stupid war for oil.

The media *tries* to report the good news, but every time they leave the green zone to go do reporting they get killed or maimed.

I read a great story once about how the 4th Infantry Battalion once rescued a small kitten from a tree in Ramadi. So some good news stories get through every now and then.

(btw - Have you taken your meds today? If not then go do it now...)

What 'good' news do you think you're missing?

War is hell my friend. It's not a party.

People are getting killed and honestly not much has changed over there and not much is 'good'.

What would be the point of hearing a story about a school opening.. when 1 day later it's destroyed by a bomb.

I'm just confused by what you're wanting to hear?

I'm assuming you're for the war... and for the President... and probably believe everything he says. Because otherwise you'd know we shouldn't be there... we haven't changed much of anything at all.. and there is no good in war.

The good news doesn't help attract viewers on tv or to read the newspapers. The bad news helps brings in more money to their particular tv stations and radio stations. It's also because much of the media is Liberal based.

Good news don't sell. People love adversity - especially when it happens to others. Then they wonder why they live such miserable lives.

Thing good. Think positive. Soon, you won't be watching "bad" news anymore because you just won't care to hear it anymore because you are out making you own little world a better place.

The more people who do that, the better this world will become.
