Diversity is great.... it adds colour, contrast and interest to everyday life!
I personally would not like to live in a country where everyone belonged to the same religion or where everyone ate the same food... not to mention where everyone looked the same! Thank goodness I live in Africa, where we have black, white, coloured and indian people living side by side every day... and, of course many other cultures too that have settled here from every corner of the world.... it's great and fascinating! BUT, of course, not everyone will agree with me... it depends on how you are raised and what values your parents instilled in you... so with that in mind, diversity can and does unfortunately cause tension and violence between people who have not been taught that colours and cultures are all beautiful!

Diversity makes the world interesting. Just as people tend to get excited when new commercials are on t.v. Whether people like the differences or not, it stirs up different emotions which makes life interesting and exciting. If only people would open their minds to each others differences, unity and diversity sounds a pretty harmonious tandem!

I personally like living in a diverse environment. I don't think it's diversity in itself that causes problems. It may be the unwillingness of each of us as individuals to learn more about the other person and accept the fact that the rest of the world doesn't have to be modeled after us.

Didn't Hitler have a similar question? (sorry i guess that was kind of harsh) but anyway...yes, it sometimes does, but tension, violence, and hate would exist with or without diversity.

Do we have a choice? I think it depends on how you want to respond to life.
I think diversity makes life a more colorful and interesting place. If you look for the wrinkles you'll find them, if you look for the beauty you'll find some.

Diversity makes it Wonderful.
But if you are a person who are afraid of things you do not understand or are familiar with. It can be very very scary.
