If it's too big for the box, you'll get a notice and can pick it up at the PO. The mail will probably already be sorted and on its way by the time you get to the PO tomorrow morning.

Probably not, unless you make arrangements ahead of time. Most Post Offices load up their trucks and are heading out for their routes before the doors even open. But you can always try, I know that my post office has a special window that you can go to for pickups between 5 am and 8 am.

If the item is being sent and needs signature confirmation, you might be able to leave a note on your door asking the post man to leave it but that doesn't always work either.

Call the post office and find out if you can pick it up before they hand it over to your mailman.

Not that I know of. I was in the same situation yesterday. I went to the Post office and I had to run back before the postman reached my house. Thank goodness, I got it. So you just have to wait.

I would try to call your USPS office first thing in the AM - if you live in a rural area, it shouldn't be too big of a deal, but in an urban area - I doubt they will have time.

Probably not. Generally, if you need to pick up something, the postman will leave you a pink slip in your mailbox or just leave the package in your front door.

you should have gone today and placed a hold on your mail, then you could have gotten it asa they opened.
now by the time they open, it will have already been processed and loaded for delivery.
