It depends on what you consider "oldies". Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers? Jackson Browne? The Rolling Stones? Or maybe the "Outlaw" album by Willie and Waylon, or something by David Allen Coe. I'm not too sure of '50s or '60s drinking songs.

Cover of the Rolling Stones by Dr. Hook, The Joker by The Steve Miller Band, Lucille by Kenny Rogers, Sweet Caroline, Mony Mony, Put the Lime in the Coconut......
All of these are also great fun to sing along with.

Beach music. East coast music. Shaggin' music. The Embers are great. Also check out The Chairmen Of The Board. They are both great. Or, if you want, try out the compilation Beachbeat Shaggin'. You will not be disappointed.

Do you want to cry into your beer? If so, "Help Me Make It Through the Night," and "For the Good Times" may do the trick. By Tammy Wynette and Kenny Rogers respectively.
