how can i kill a mesquite tree without cutting it down?

Spray it with roundup- soak the leaves well.

well we had a bee hive but first u have 2 break it first u have to hose it down then spray alot of bug reppallent then cut it down

Cut a ring around the trunk. This will deprive it on nutrients and it will die.
