Wii: creative gaming, could bring a whole new experiance with motion sensetive controllers.
PS3: for those that can dish out $60-$100 per game, with it's new graphics it's even gunna make the 360 look like last generation graphics.
due to the fact that I don't have $1,000 to dish out for a system and a couple games, and that better graphics are cool, but don't make a good game by themselves. I'm gunna say that the Wii is going to be better, even though I'm gunna try a few PS3 games, just becouse of the big titles that are coming out (like devil may cry 4!)

From what I read, PS3 and Wii took different direction in console game progression. PS3 takes the "faster, stronger hardware" way, while Wii takes the "innovative games" way.
You can take PSP and Nintendo DS for example. There is no way Nintendo DS can compare with PSP graphic-wise, but instead it has dual screen, microphone and touch screen to compensate.
This makes NDS' games are more creative and innovative, while lacking in graphic quality. On the other hand, PSP has better graphic, but its games are mostly just port from other consoles/PC games.

Depends on whether you have $1200 bucks to spend on the PS3 and all the accessories. I'd rather have the Wii and a decent computer rather than a system that tries to do both.

well.....even if I am a devoted PlayStation fan(have PSX, PS2, wanna buy PSP) I must admit that the PS3 is way too expensive for me. The quality of PS3 games will be outstanding and the HDD and all the other stuff, but it's just a game console after all. I played FF X and FF X-2 on my PS2 and it was great. I played Legend of Legaia and Legend of Dragoon, and Grandia and other beautiful games on my PSX and I have enjoyed them. I played Empire Earth and Age of Empires and Heroes of Might and Magic on my Sony Ericsson K700i serries, and I enjoyed it. There's no reason for me to buy the PS3, even if I adore it (with all regrets) I've come this far in console gaming but ..... I can't keep up, you know. I guess my PSX and my PS2 will remain my best friends.

We cannot say for certain. From a price point, the Wii will be much more affordable than the Playstation 3.

The console war will be fought between Microsoft and Wii. 360 for hardcore "graphic intensive" gamers, and Wii for the softcore "games are good" gamer.

it depends on what kind of games you enjoy. just look at other answers they all have their own choices. some like one, others like another.
i would wait and see which one has more games that i love to play before i decide which is better.
i love Capcom and Square Enix.
