I'd like to conduct research on the World cup games and am looking for match records / transcripts / archives that are essentially the text recordings of the matches.

Aside from taping the match, and tabulating the match myself, does data exist on the internet where the matches are recorded to the detail of : 01:00 Player X passes ball to Player Y / 01:01 Player Y shoots but misses goal / etc.?

The closest I've seen were minute by minute records, but even these do not have the level of granularity that I'm hoping might exist somewhere. . . I've heard sports statisticians record games move by move, and then check it with the playbacks, but is that data I could access somehow?

Thanks!

...has a lot of information.

Also search in http://home.skysports.com/football/
... in their TV shows often they have shown the kind of data (computer generated) that you are looking for.
