I live in Michigan, and my birthdate is coming up soon. If I apply for my license tomorrow, will I get it the same day, or will it be mailed to me? If it is mailed, how am I supposed to go out to bars if i only have my 21 and under id card? and yes, the drinking age in the states sucks.

Wow, can't wait a couple of days to go out drinking? Sad...

Here in Nebraska, you can go into the DMV and take the eye test and providing you pass, you will get your new drivers' license then. Still hot from the press. If you mail in your renewal, I understand it can take up to about a week turnaround time to get it, so if your birthday is coming up quickly, I'd opt for the DMV office personally.

I take it Michigan law is 21 years before you can go into a bar and drink? It's the same here. My son can't wait for his 21st birthday either (its in January).

Even though your ID has under 21 across it, it still has your picture and your birth day. Just ask them to look at our birth date on it if they give u any problems.

If u go to the dmv to renew it, what we usually get here is a pre-printed card that is stapled to your picture id.

depending on the state you live in. i know in az and nv you get them hot off the press. they are still warm when you get them right on the spot. even if you don't get a hard liscence you will get a printed on and along with a picture id it serves as a legal binding verification document. drink one for me
