The Hills Have Eyes. That movie is gross and scarey at the same time.

I'd have to say "The Ring" part 1 and "The Grudge". The movie "The Hills have Eyes" was okay but not scary. If you are thinking gore as being hostile, I'd recommend either "Hostile" or maybe "Cabin Fever".

Why? "The Ring" and "The Grudge" have death induced by spirits twists the victims body in some deformed state and sweet palish colour. (I kept replaying the beginning scene in "The Ring" in slo mo just to see the effects). Plus, in "The Grudge", there is a scene where the japanese cops finds a bone in the attic of the cursed house, which leads later on in the film to the scene where the first caretaker, Miko (I think her name is) slushes by her boss thru blood in the hallway, only to reveal to him a pale face with no jaw an a long tongue that keeps slithering slowly up and down with slimy sounds. That was so cool.

"Cabin Fever" has a nice 2 minute scene where one of the girls who is infected by the virus is eaten by a dog.

And "Hostile", well, the beginning of the movie was okay, where three guys are trying to get laid in Amsterdam, but two of them were kidnapped and tortured in the most terrifying way possible. The coolest scene here is when the a guy was drilling the eye of an asian girl victim in the underground torture chamber. The end is sweet revenge when the last friend follows one of the torturers and gives him a taste of his own medicine.

Oh, and one more, if you like Video Games Turned Horror Movies, well even though "Resident Evil 1 &2" were okay, you'll really enjoy "Silent Hill". There is a cool scene were the demon capture one of the women and in one pull, rips of her dress (showing a sexy body), next, by sinking his nails into her chest he rips off all her skin and then throws her body to the church door. The SEs (Special Effects) are sweet.

I hope this helps!

I really haven't seen anything anymore that is "scary" but if your looking for some good horror type movies I'd have to suggest The Hills Have Eyes and Silent Hill

P.S. not trying to knock on their answer but I found The Ring to be pathetic, it was more like a mystery, nothing scary about it, though i did enjoy how everything seemed green and resident evil was more action than horror

Horror movies suck now...seriously I have not seen anything good since the Ring. I heard Saw was good but now nothing good out.

If you like gore definitely " the Hills have eyes" or "hostel" I personally liked " the Hills have eyes" better. other than that I don't think I've seen any good horrors recently...but I haven't seen Silent Hill yet and I've heard it's a good one.

Not really horror, but Running Scared is an awesome thriller. (The one with Paul Walker, not Billy Crystal.)
