Yes.
At least mine is because I can get to my Yahoo mail either directly Through Yahoo mail, or by logging in to Yahoo messenger and getting to my mail that way.
I don't know any other way, but then I have only used Yahoo for the past year. That's the way it works for MSN/Hotmail.

Your yahoo id password is the same as your yahoo messenger password if thats what u r asking for.

If it is some other messenger like MSN, AOL, etc. then the password cannot be the same unless and until you specify it.
