how to decline a job offer through mail?

I want to send a offer decline email, please provide me with a good content.

I wish I were like you! Able to decline an offer. Me? I was scrounging in the past, praying for any opportunity, anything at all.

I would say: "Dear Mr./Mrs. (so-and-so),

I would like to thank you for the employment opportunity. However, it is with sincere regret that I must inform you of my need to decline your offer. I have recently come upon an alternate opportunity of employment/advancement, and have opted to explore this opportunity forthwith. Again, I thank you for your invitation, and I will certainly remember your company for future reference..."

...It might sound kinda corny... Like I said, I don't know what it's like to have so many opportunities, or the high credentials to be able to decline one. I've had one job, and I've kept it for almost 4 years now, my first ever.

Email is a poor choice for communication during a job search, but if it is all you have, then try something like:

I regretfully must inform you that I cannot accept your offer. I have thoughtfully considered, but must decline at this time (insert reason here, if it's a good, respectable reason). I appreciate your time and wish you the best of luck in selecting another candidate.

Calling is much better.

Just say after careful review you feel you would not be the ideal match for the position.
And thank them for taking the time to meet with you and considering you for the position.
