DONT - because unless she wants a pet it will be unfair for you to have one or even put it upon her to want one - even if you think you can care for it.. she will likely be the one paying the bills (vet, food, etc) and providing some care for it too.. so asking her to get YOU a pet is totally unfair - save your money - move out - but what ever you like

Responsiblity is key in this situation. You need to prove to your mom that you will take care of your pet. It's an everyday job and it's not easy. Also, it depends on what kind of pet you want. Maybe you could start off small and work your way up? But you must show your mom that you can care for another living creature.
If she still doesn't allow it, it could mean that she just doesn't want that additional responsibilty herself: caring for the pet when you're not around, vet bills, pet food...all this can add up!
Good luck!

Just tell her that this is your chance to show her how responsible you are. Or you could be like me and just go and get your pet and take it home and hope that your mom doesn't freak out !

Pets are a great responsibility. Start taking on more responsibilities at home and then when you have shown you can be responsible, ask for a pet.

Tell her that you'll hold your breath until you get a pet. No parent can resist such a threat.
