I put whatever amount I can afford at the time...not usually over 20.00

I have two vehicles..one that barely moves too often and one that I run the hell out of...

the one I barely move, I put usually enough to get by and leave a few gals. in the tank .. rather have a few gals go bad than a tank full... that and the blens keep changing so much that if I had a tank of winter and drove it now, I'd have major problems

The truck gets tanked up all the time it gets between 1/4 and 1/2

I fill the tank. I drive too many miles to be stopping and putting in a couple of gallons at a time.

The only time I just put a small amount in is if I know that gas is considerably cheaper somewhere else. Then I just put in enough to get me there.

For example, gas in the Baltimore/ Washington area is about $3.09 per gallon right now. In the York Pa area it is 25-30 cents less per gallon. If I were to be going to Pa and did not have enough gas to make it there, I would stop and put a couple of gallons in my vehicle, and fill up at the cheaper station when I got there.

i fill up i found that if i put a little here and there i am spending more or equal amount at times and i feel safer with a full tank that way if i am away at a great distance from the stations i know i can make it. and it is better for fuel pump in tank it helps it not to work hard, and it keeps water out of tank.

Fill 'er up, it's not like you're not going to use it. What about the waste of time having to fill up every $10 or so anyway? It's just as east to keep the top half of your tank full as the bottom half.
