You know the same question poped up 3 hours ago by someone else...
Anyway, PCMCIA is a type of card, its solid, it doesnot have any cables, cables may be connected to the back of it for internet access if its a PCMCIA lancard or sound if its a PCMCIA Sound Card, or watching tv if its a PCMCIA TV Card etc that requires cable to be connected to it to work.
PCMCIA is a standard addon device like USB for laptops as it doesnot support the conventional PCI cards. Some PCs uses PCMCIA cards by inserting them in to a PCI PCMCIA CARD READER. ok

PCMCIA slots are on laptops and do not require cables (except maybe pre-installed to the motherboard), only cards that slide into them. You can use just about any device that is compatible with PCMCIA including network card, modem, USB, ect...

I assume that you have a laptop as they often appear on a laptop to expand its capabilities. Often times, there are no wires to plug into it directly. It is a slot for an upgrade card such as network card, additional USB and Firewire ports. Also it can be used as a memory card reader with an adapter.
