Don't shave, use a depilatory like Nair or something. The key to this is timing the application so your skin does not get irritated. This will also take more of the hair and it will not grow as fast.

If you're getting red bumps after shaving, that means the razor is dull.

Always use a sharp razor. One that you have only used 3 or 4 times, then throw it away and get a new sharp one.

To get rid of those pesky bumps, go to Walgreen's or CVS pharmacy and pick up a pumice stone.

You'll find them in the foot care section.

After scrubbing your legs with it, in the bath tub with soap and water, apply ANY good body lotion all over your legs.

Scrub kind of hard but not SO hard that it is painful.

The bumps will be gone in 2 days.

I promise.

Shaving Cream?

if you shave in the shower, do it last so that your legs have time to soften and your pores will open. also, make sure you are using either a shaving gel, conditioner, at least something besides soap when you shave. afterwards, use neutrogena body oil. some lotions have alcohol in them which can contribute to your little red bumps

It sounds like you are not soaking your legs long enough in water before you shave. You should soak in a tub for 20 minutes, before you shave, in warm, if not "hot water". Then use a new razor, with one of those "moisturizing strips", and use a new blade and good, thick shaving cream. This should prevent those bumps. I know it prevents it for me.

try shaving using a shaving gel with lotion or aloe in it. They reduce the amount of red bumps. Maybe one for sensitive skin.

shaving cream.. It's your skin becoming inflamed due to irritation.. Guys who shave without any shaving cream can get the same thing on their face. Especially with an electric razor.

make sure you soak your legs in warm(hot) water, it opens your pores, and which allows you to shave properly. have water running over your legs while shaving, sometimes we shave while having goose-bumps,and were not suppose to, which sometimes gives us cuts or red bumps, hope it helps? it sucks having bumps and wanting to wear a skirt!

What kind of shaver are you using? You might try one of those Intuition razors for women.....it has moisturising heads for various tyes of skin. Make sure you moisturise after shaving as well with a good skin lotion.
