Just what exactly is a long distance relationship? I would guess the failure rate is very high.

Diggun the showbiz movie name ;p! No, I was in one for over 3 years and turned down a marriage proposal because of my choice not because of the distance. It is all in do you communicate well, love, and care about each other the same? It can work, how can you explain all the couples you never hear about that are in wars from all the years before us that make it? They are committed to one another, that's the difference. I think that society today tells us that more relationships are better than trying to find the one that will last by waiting for the one.So boy, good luck a relationship is between two people that are committed to one another no matter what?.....Get to the basics of your relationship, find out what you want with one another, and what you want for the future. (Not meaning you have to marry her, right away but is it a fling, real thing, or are you still looking?)
Good luck!

Not if one of the people is eventually willing to move to be with the other person. A long distance relationship usually only works when the couple comes to a decision that at some point in time one of them is going to move in order to make the relationship work.

I was in a long distance relationship. It was because of the distance that kept us going and honestly if it weren't for that we would've broken up long ago. I would've seen what a jerk he was. I regret wasting years waiting on him.

Most relationships can't endure the long distance. Absence makes the heart grow fonder only for a very short period of time I believe. Over an extended period of time, people's heart starts to dwindle down. This is why in the military, there is a high divorce rate. I am speaking in general of course and I'm sure there are a few cases where relationship persevere that is if it is strong enough to withstand the absence of your partner.

Probably. I had one for 1-1/2 years. as winter came we couldn't see each other very often. Well there you go. Find someone closer, I know it hurts but if you can't get together in the same town, well, it probably won't work. Besides, if you care for someone why don't you want to be closer. Someone has to move to the the other's area.

if there is no end in sight, like being together someday soon, the chances of it working for good are next to none. if the people are devout and there is hope of unification somewhere down the road, yeah, most are still doomed... sorry. ;(
