If you were male, I'd swear you were my soulmate (well that and the fact I already found him,...lol).
I feel the same exact way, it's ridiculous. And then we take census's and studies to find out why we are all so rude and disconnected from one another anymore when the answer is right there. We are too plugged into technology to honestly be plugged into each other! When I was a kid you couldn't even answer the landline during dinner, then yesterday while out eating at a local Coney Island I had to sit through the annoying twelve conversations of a 15 yearold boy who had his Rap Song ringer up so damn high that I actually noticed two other teenage girls dancing in a corner booth everytime it rang! It's very annoying,... I really wanted to tell him,..."Listen, instead of taking these phonecalls from your friends, sit here and enjoy the conversations you could have with the friends you thought were good enough to come here and dine with". It is so disrespectful, not only to other patrons in the resturant (or any other place for that matter, I even had a guy answer his phone during X3 the other day), but to the people who you came to eat with, they kind of just sit there. I'll bet he talked on the phone for a total of 30 minutes out of the 45 they were there,...errr! lol
I'm glad I'm not the only person who notices these things.
Great minds think alike.

I'm a Realtor. If I don't answer my phone, my sellers might lose out on a buyer for their home, or a buyer may lose out on buying the home of their dreams. No, it's not an "emergency" but it's important that I can be reached. When in movies, or other places where a cell phone call is inappropriate, I put the phone on silence. While eating, I'll take the call but excuse myself to the parking lot or another area where I won't disturb the other diners.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I kind of miss those days when no one had cell phones and even pagers were scarce - back in the days when you could dine in peace, shop in peace, and go out without hearing cell phones ringing non stop - or seeing people driving with one hand while talking on the phone.

Because they have never known existence without cell phones, and they are so scared that it won't work, they don't even want to try living for a few days without a cell phone.

I don't even like phones let alone cell phones. But I see them being helpful from time to time.
Overall I hate phones most of the time.

Cell phones are the new alcohol. People used to drink to get a feeling of belonging, now they stay on their phones so no one will know they're really alone.

people with two cell phones in use at once are usually on business calls and are trying to sort things out between two other people, customers, etc. however i think most people who have them think they are more important than people who dont, we have one and i really dont know how to turn it off so i answer it. but thankfully it rings about 3 times a week.

Cellphones had became a part of our lives. It already had many functions just like talking to a person, for listening to music, making records, sending messages and even taking pictures. Thus, without a cellphone, a person could have lost a chance to do many things.
