Your math looks right to me. Also, the mother would be 20, not 12, becuase the mother is 21 yrs older than the son. Also, this must be the answer, becuase otherwise we'd have no idea where that father is.

Plug it all back in and it checks out. If the son is currently -3/4, then the mother is 20.25 years old.
six years from now, the child will be 5.25 years old and mom will be 26.25 years old. 5.25 x 5 = 26.25,so yes, the equation is solved.
A typo from your teacher is as good a place as any to start getting creative with metaphysics, but in the end, it's just a typo from your teacher. Good luck...sounds like you'll need it.

No it's not true because if the kid is negative 9 months old then the mother is 12 and she wouldn't get pregnant.Atleast I hope not!
