No you cant work part time when you're applying for disability benefits, If you're truly disabled then how are you able to even work part time? Applying for disability they're looking at you as you're permanently unable to work ,this isn't workmans comp . I never heard of such a idiotic question ! good luck attempting to milk the system

You will be talking to the Social Security Administration and they will be doing everything they can to not give you disability, unless you are truly disabled of course. So you will need to bring anything that you have as evidence of your disability--and more!

Whether you can work part time or not, and how many hours, if any, will be told to you then--you can't determine this in advance. You'll have plenty of time to figure out your possible employment once you apply believe me. In the meantime, you might be eligible for unemployment compensation, if you were working under that security before your disability occurred. Myself, I drive a school bus during the school year; most of my fellow drivers draw unemployment for around three months ever summer. I never even apply, because to me it was not an "unplanned" layoff that caused me to be "out of a job" during June-August. I just make other plans for my income, cut back, whatever, and go on with my life. You might need to do some of that as well until your income gets replaced via Social Security, disability income, or whatever. When you are given a lemon, and you can't use it, make lemonade. Or so it seem to me.

I hope you really need it, because it is us tax payers who will be supporting you. I am tired of seeing people on disability, like this dude next door hes on it. So Everymorning when I leave for work I see his ugly mug out side under his truck fixing somthing or cutting wood. All I am saying is if you dont need it dont get it.
