I just hit another car on my way home. My car drifted left after i fell asleep at the wheel and hit an oncoming car. Stupid, definitely. My fault, completely. Honest mistake, yes. The problem involves my financial situation. Im on my own and have no financial backing from anyone. Lack of work has led to my insufficient funding and ive just now started a new job and have only been working for a few weeks. Has anyone ever been in this situation? what can i do? get a loan? im in serious need of help

Aren't you insured? Isn't that like the law? Do you live in a no fualt state? You need to answer these questions so we can better assist you!
1) if you are insured then your insurance company will take care of it
2) not insured? Then the other people's insurance company will be coming after you big time, no way to avaoid it
3) you could be facing a civil lawsuit especially if you injured someone
4) if you have family or friends, borrow money for a lawyer because you are going to need legal advice first
5) no matter what, do not try to avoid your responsibility as there can be civil and legal judgments brought against you even if you are not present in a court roon

Look, basically, you messed up. You have to own up and do whatever it takes to clean up the mess you made, especially and foremost to the lives of the people YOU hit. Take responsibility and al3ways keep their situation in mind first, before your own. And no matter what it costs you, you will recover from it.

The last thing I would do is take out a loan for this mistake. Don't beat yourself up for it either. I've been in a similar situation before and this is a temporary condition, your life is not ruined. When you get ahead, pay your bills and move on. Your insurance should cover the damages, so be cool with them. Sounds like you're doing everything that you can right now. So don't lose hope, this has happened to a lot of good people.

I have been in a similar problem not too long ago. FIrst, let your insurance company deal with the dude you hit (you DO have insurance, right???). Second, if anyone calls you about the wreck other than your insurance agency or the cops, don't talk to them. Third, avoid buying another car untill finances allow--if you can. Try to find a job withing walking or biking distance, or somewhere that you can carpool to with a friend. After time passes, ask your insurance company what types of cars are the best (i.e. least amount of $ for your undoubtedly now-higher rates) to drive, prolly a minivan. Then buy a car and keep working....

It takes time...I'm just now starting to crawl out of the hole I made myself about a year ago...damn trees blocking the view of intersections make me want to buy a chainsaw...

okay some of these guys are making it out to be alot worse than it sounds. Your isurance company will take care of it. You might have to pay a deductible, but depending on the insurance that you have it shouldn't be that much.(it's more if you have full coverage then if you just have liability) And there is no guarentee that your insurance will go up. And until your insurance fronts the money, the other parties insurance will cover them. So your car is unhurt and so is everyone involved. Take a deep breath and get some extra sleep

OK, you have insurance. Is either car going to be considered totaled? If not, your insurance should pay to repair both. If they are, again your insurance should pay, but will probably only pay the average retail price of the car, not the cost of replacement. Either way, get in touch with your insurance company. They are better qualified to tell you what you need to know. And don't worry about it, things happen. My father and my wife both have totalled vehicles this year and I hit a deer with mine, and have been involved in wrecks not of my doing in the past. Just let your ins.co. handle it.
Just read addition-again, your ins. should cover their car--I'm assuming you have full coverage--and any medical bills they might incur. Even if all you have is liability, that should prevent them from suing you personally. Just let the ins. co. do their job.

So what did you need, like advice on what, it seems your doing ok, you have insurance, so thats a very good thing, no one was hurt bad or killed, your car runs, so you need help getting the deductable for the insurance? Was the insurance only going to cover thier car and not yours (liability)? Is it that your insurance will go up because of the accident and your bearly making it now?

Ok first of all... Stop driving tired. I doubt you will be able to get a loan for the purpose of paying for damages. I'm assuming you don't have insurance... or that you chose not to report it. You're best bet would be to make a deal with the other person where you can make payments for the damage. A little out of each paycheck. I doubt the deal will be accepted, but I wish you the best of luck.

If you are insured, let the company handle it. it is what you pay them for. Why would you need to get a loan? You need to calm down and not try to think about this tonight. Let it go for 24 hours and you will be able to think more clearly and by then the insurance should have some information for you.

if you have insurance it usually takes care of it. but that is usually the other car and it could be that you may be stuck paying for both cars.hopefuuly there was no major damage.and there could be ways that you could make payments or even get a loan however if you just started working it could be difficult if you have been at your banking place and if they know you well they may even be able to help.

No matter what state you are in (financially or geographically) you should carry insurance for such an occasion.

SINCE YOU LET US KNOW YOU HAVE INSURANCE-
Don't even worry about it-that's what insurance is for, they will pay the damages of the other party if you are at fault.
I WAS being serious!
