I for one am a big fan of Italy, I'm hoping and wishing that they will win the worldcup, it would be just simply amazing!!!
But then I'm just thinking about it, and well..... everyone will diss the Italians! ( excluding the fans obviously)
If they win, it'll be because they paid the refs at some point, or because the refs weren't beeing fair... basically they won't deserve their win and beating the French!
Too many sore losers, therefor if Italy wins, it'll be an unfair/ a dirty win... Why can't people stop saying that Italians are fakers and whatever the heck they're saying! If they're there it's because they've simply made it that far and they've been playing well........ Yes they've been lucky at some points, just like any other team. As for the diving or them faking, I mean look at other teams, it's a part of it.
The world cup is becoming somewhat unpleasant as some people won't accept the fact that Italians have made it that far!
GET OVER IT OR GET LOST!!!!

To all Italian fans , why worry too much ? I was once a proud fan of Italy back in 1990-1998 until they decided not to play Baggio in any major Tournament . Was it Sachhi who ruined Baggio's career?
To cut it short. No Team and I repeat again : no Team has suffered like Italy since 1990 :
- 1990 : Lost to Argentina (Semi) in PKs. They were a great team , playing at home and was on a 5 games winning streak until that Semi .
- 1994 : Lost to Brazil ( Final ) in PKs . They reached the Final with the herois of Baggio. Unfortunately Baggio was playing hurt in that Final game , he had 3 great chances but failed to score : 1/ a volley . 2/ A weak shot after a great 1-2 with Massero , he should have dribble a little bit closer, but it was a weak shot . 3/ Missed the PK , if he made it , Brazil still need to score on the next to win .
- 1998 : a strong Italian team as usual . Baggio was playing great with Vieri until Del Piero recoverd and the Coach chose Del Piero to start against France in Quarter-Final over Baggio . Baggio did come in , and he was inch it away when he strike that ball curling and missed the far post . Italy went on to lose by PKs .
- Euro 2000 : Should I call it a "too early to celebrate" ?? . They lead 1-0 over France in that Final game , they had many chances to make it 2-0 , 1 of them was Del Piero failed to score on an open goal . 30 seconds left in injury time , France score to even 1-1 , then France went on to win in sudden death . That was painful .
- WC 2002 : I lost alot of interests after this WC cause I realized that FIFA have all the power to decide who should move on and who's going home . If you don't believe me then please watch all the Koreans games and tell me if you don't see anything wrong and please tell me how Korea beat Italy and Spain .
Now tell me if Italy deserves to win after all they've been through . And if you watched them this WC , you will agree heartedly that Italy is a great team, a well balance team with great Goalie, great Defense, solid Mid-fields with great playmakers in Pirlo & Totti , and their strikers are great if not that great compare to the past . I hope and I have confident they will win this Sunday if they play to their potential .
BTW , if they had a little bit more luck , they would have won more WC than Brazil . We can't change the history of the game , but I do believe "luck" plays a great role in all major sports.

What refs did we pay off? Are you kidding me? Yes, I am Italian and I admit we got an unjustified PK against Australia, and I would have loved for that game to play out just so we wouldnt hear all this pity. However nobody talks about the unfare red card we received in the same game and played 51 minutes a man down.
Brazil got an offside goal against Japan
Switzerland got a goal disallowed against them although the ball clearly had passed the line
In fact Switzerland again was on the receiving end of an offside call that resulted in a change in the scoreline
Ghana was awarded a penalty kick that did not exist
IN Portugal - Netherlands game there were more cards than throw ins
Officiating has not been up to par in this tournament. However those remember 2002 will also remember how we got robbed on three different occasions. Hell we scored twice against Korea but the game was continued by disallowing our goals until the host country continued their run in the cup.
So in short - the Italian players have not done anything wrong. And they have played their hearts out, beautifully since the first they of the tournament we have been the most consistent team. We have also played the hardest set of matches games against the likes of:
Chech Republic, Ghana, Germany and now France.
So everybody should get over it. ITaly is here and ITALY is here to stay and win it all.

I was not a fan of Italy's team before this world cup. Objectively minded as I can be, I can say that they've played very well, in fact, better than any other team in the tournament. The late goal to win over Germany was magical. They haven't advanced on PKs yet, and they've not relinquished a goal scored by an opponent. Granted, they did get lucky in the matchups for the round of 16 and quarter-finals, but their group stage opponents were very tough and they finished first to achieve that good position for the next two rounds. Defensively, Italy has looked very focused and mistake free; offensively, they have shown that they can score at any time and are dangerous from distance as well as with fast combination plays in to the box. As far as allegations of match-fixing or excessive diving goes, I don't feel that those allegations are justified after seeing the games.
If Italy wins on Sunday, it will be completely deserved, and if we're lucky, it will be as fabulous a game as we saw versus Germany.

Sabrina; That was very well said and not because I'm an Italian fan. The fans of the losing teams always have something to say or find any little thing bad about the winners.I can really sympathize with them but come on give it up people!!!
May the best team win! (Obviously I hope it's Italy)

Sabrina, you took the words right out of me! Well put! People don't realize that the Italian team has also suffered a lot in the past. If Italy wins, why don't people just let the team and their fans have a bit of glory for a moment? Every team should have that right once in a while. Maybe people are envious that the Italians play so well??? lol :) ;)

It is kool like this: I LOVE those people getting upset with Italy, people that hate Italians, people that wish Italy will lose... more they do that, the better Italy gets!!!
There is a funny one in here (Yahoo.Answers), "Bubu" I think, who had the wish of Italy losing since the first game, she was going to have a party as soon as Italy would have been kicked out... but she had to delay the party so many times!!!
Let them talk and let them express their anger/hate towards Italy: it is THEIR problem, they are going to suffer in case of another victory!
