With out swaping internals of your engine you will not be able to get any more then maybe 10 hp out of Intake, exhaust and header. Good news is you CAN swap out internals, or even better get a D15B or D15Z1. (maybe 800 dollars for the full swap and you get 140 HP, If you do the work yourself).
I have seen D-series motors make 160 170 naturally asperated for less then a B16, with other d-series parts. But that is the limit for those motors with out forced induction <<<=$$$.

More then anything, Springs, dampers, and good tires will liven up your daily grind to work, school, girlfreinds house.

I recommend Koni's (or KYB AGX if you must, but less cost = less quaility), any Linear rate coil over you want (F 400LB, R 250 LB), and I buy Falken Ziex ZE-512 (cheap an mildly sticky).

I love my Honda... but I know that they don't have much under the hood.... so don't expect too much from it. Start with an cold air intake ($150 - 350), then get better springs ($200+), headers ($250+) and exhaust system ($500+).... these things are pretty basic and won't make your car really fast, but they will add a little "umph" and some fun to driving it.... to make any real performance upgrades you'll have to get into the forced induction arena (turbo's, etc.) and that's $$$$.

Just start out by doing exhaust and suspension, most people don't realize that when you tune up your suspension the power in the car may be enough for you right now to practice on, then upgrade as time goes on and you get better at racing. Most people just go out and throw in tons of money on their car at once and don't realize that if they had just tuned the suspension you would already feel a difference on your car. Check out Stageoneimports.com, my bro is co owner and if its not on there then just email we go to Japan to see my dad and when we go we usually pick up a ton of parts, mainly for our cars but we do favors. Just check it out. Good Luck

You bought an economy car, use it for great milage, and longevity. You can't take a Geo Metro, and make it fast, so why do people think they can do it with a Civic. I agree with the first person, save your money, pay off your car, then start with a fast car and make it faster.

Put a turbocharger on it. It's only about 3,000 bucks to get it done.
