It depends on the individual laws of your state what exactly qualifies an offender as what... but here is an excerpt from the U.S. Department of Justice website...
"...public information regarding the presence or location of offenders, who, in most cases, have been convicted of sexually-violent offenses against adults and children and certain sexual contact and other crimes against victims who are minors."
In all actuality, it is much more than likely this "individual" commited a crime against a minor, but it is not impossible that this was a sexual assualt against another adult.
The term "Sex Predator," usually means a child. The word predator would suggest he/she is the predator, and a child is his/her prey, but it is a loose interpretation. You must also remember that this individual has served his time to society, and is now payed his dues and is free. However, this by no means to let your guard down with respect to this individual.
I am studying these kinds of things in college, but I do not claim to be an expert. If anyone notices anything wrong with my answer, please let me know.

You live in the park? I'll bet there are all sorts of predators living there.
>>>I have 4 children so you could only imagin how i feel.<<<
I'd find them a nice safe place to live... far far away from that park.

Sex offenders have to register when they get out of prison. You can do a search on sex offenders in your area here I think...link. You can find out what his level is...(3 is most likely to re-offend). and sometimes you can see what he was charged with. (If it had to do with children or not so you have an idea) I don't really understand what you mean by "in the park" is he homeless? (he might not be registered if he's homeless, or maybe it's just a rumor someone is spreading) If you're with your kids when they go to the park, which you should be anyway, they'll be alright. Just make sure and keep a closer eye on them than usual.

Sex Predators can be a lot of things, it could even be some guy who was 18 and had sex with his 17 year-old girlfriend in high school, but it could also be rape. Sex offenders a required BY LAW to register in a directory, complete with photos and everything, so if you can't find them on there it could have been a rumor.

A sex predator could be a child molester, but could also be a rapist of women or men. If I were you, I wouldn't let my children near the park or even outside without an adult til the a$$hole is caught. You should not go outside alone either.

Talk to the police about your concern. My future son-in-law is also deemed a sexual predator since he was 18 when he started going out with my daughter who was 14 and she ended up pregnant. He will live with this for the rest of his life. Even though she is now going on 20 and they have three daughters. A woman in the post office was telling me about him. She did not know the story either. When she got around to his last name I knew who she was talking about and set her facts straight. If in doubt go talk to the police so you feel safe. And talk to your children about the dangers of talking to strangers. I have talked to my 4 year old granddaughter many times and she knows not to go with anyone she doesn't know.

Check with your local police department. If your community or state supports Megan's Law, they will tell you his name, address and what he was in for, this will help you to better judge from there. If your community does not have Megan's Law, then the police may still be able to give you basic information, such as have any other complaints been filed, or are the watching this person. Good Luck to you.

I would call the police and let them know where he is hanging around and your manager is supposed to tell the police who he is. I would also be very careful with the kids explain to them about strangers and those kind of people and don't be afraid to tell them, better safe than sorry, good luck.

go to familywatchdog.us . the site should be able to help you find out if that man is a child sex predator or just a sex predator- but to be honest- i don't see the difference...he didn'e know that girl was 18..what did he do, stop and ask her first. she could have been fourteen and it wouldn't have mattered to him.
