There are many species of shrews, and they're mostly carnivorous. If you want to be more specific, you can say that they're animalivorous, that is, they eat small live prey, mostly invertebrates, although some shrews prey also on small vertebrates.

However, there are many omnivorous species, for instance this small shrew that feeds also on seeds and fungi:

Update:
The members of order Insectivora may not have specialized dentition, but they do have incisors and canines. And their premolars and molars have a pattern of cusps that's not derived, but it's adequate for the type of food they eat. Generalized does not mean "less adapted".

Is A Shrew An Omnivore

They are actually insectivores by classification. They belong to the order Insectivora, which also includes moles. Shrews will eat anything and everything. They belong to the order insectivora, because of their dentition, they lack the true incisiors of a rodent, to which they resemble and they lack the canines of the order carnivora. They are kind of the black sheep of the mammal class. They will eat practically anything, from plant material to insects, to other small mammals, to frogs, snakes, fish, and everything in between. Some have evolved some rather neat survivial strategies. The short-tailed shrew, actually has neurotoxic venom in its saliva, similar to that of a coral snake and is the only true venomous mammal, well there is the platypus too, but who really knows what that is right (I know its a Monotreme). The water shrew, can dive and swim in search of fish and other aquatic prey. So going by their behaviour, they can be carnivore, omnivore or insectivore, depending on the species... but for classification and if you want to label them something then they are technically insectivores (Class: Mammalia Order: Insectivora)

I hope that answers your question. It was a good one!

A shrew is the ultimate carnivore. All shrews eat are bugs, worms, grubs and other small living creatures. They have veraciously appetites, and they eat constantly.

~The one I was dating was a real man eater. But she was a bit of a vegetable too. Her character was that of an omniwhore I suppose.
