Hey what about coming to Canada... Niagara Falls... You are approximately 4 hours drive to the border and your money is pretty good still in the exchange rate - not as good as it was but still good. You could easily check out the expedia website or travelocity and see what you could get a Niagara Falls US side or Canadian side. It is alot of fun there and lots to see and do.
Other than that? Camping is fairly cheap but not so relaxing if the weather is lousy...

Several questions come to mind(I am Owner of a Travel Agency):
1-Do you want to vacation near Cleveland? Far away from Cleveland? A geographical preference in general?
2-Is weather a consideration?
3-Are activities where you want to vacation at important to you?
4-When do you plan to vacation?
Those are some things you may want to consider; anyone can tell you, "Go to Canada", or "Cleveland suburbs are great", etc. But at the end of the day, only you know what you want in a vacation. If you could kindly either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me through Yahoo Messenger with your ideas and thoughts, I can see what is realistic and doable for you, both time-wise and cost-wise.

Sure, you can try camping in Cleveland metro parks, go to the big farmer's market downtown, eat at the waterfront (Walleye sandwiches are a speciality there), the Cleveland art museum is one the best in the world.

When I lived out there, I always went to Cedar Point. There's a lot of smaller attractions around it too, like Seneca Caverns. You could also take the ferry to Ontario, but there's not much to do where it lands.
