Because he has what some like to call "penis envy". He wants everyone to know that he's good...where Marvin Harrison knows he's good and shows you rather than telling you. T.O. feels the need to defend his "penis" (in this case skills) from all the other WRs that are just as good, if not better, than he is.
I'm a Panther fan, and we know Steve Smith likes to talk, but he doesn't get off as much as T.O. about how good he is...Smith just backs it up instead. T.O. talked himself into not being able to back it up. If he shut up and played, I'd like the guy...but...I don't see it happening...he even wrote a book about it.
WE GET IT T.O. YOU LOVE YOURSELF!!! Go away!!!

It is hard to determine what is really behind the Terrel Owens myth. It is unfortunate, but some players are picked on by the press. They are quoted out of context and goaded by paparazzi types. This can give the public a deceptive view of that person.
Most football players are not statesmen. Many of them cannot handle the pressure of fame and some of them are just pure jerks. There are big mouths and immature individuals in all walks of life. Fortunately most of them do not have their every word recorded and put before the public.
It is very difficult for those of us who are not in the limelight to know how we would act if we were under constant scrutiny and criticism by persons who do not have 1/1000 of the talent you have.

Eagles fan here. I was happy to know that he wanted out of Philly. When I heard he signed with the Cowboys, I was amazed at the absence of animosity I had toward the 'Pokes. After all, it is a birthright to hate the Cowboys if you are an Eagles fan. But to the Cowboys fans, if you guys win the Lombardi that's great for you, but don't be quick to embrace this imbecile, he has shown disrespect for your team twice and he will do it again.

Until he quits getting publicity for acting like he does, he won't stop. It's like rewarding a small child for bad behavior. Same mentality. He's good, but if he were on my team, he'd be gone.

Cause he's the type of guy that does what he feels and he's not afraid to express himself... like most other people... and as long as he plays at an unbelievable level, who cares what he does... he's still a great guy !!

He won't shut up because of his dumb ego. He thinks he is the best wideout and he should get pay a lot of money. He is selfish to shorten it.

Because the media expects him to talk. Any publicity is good publicity. So with the media expecting him to talk and following him to hear what he has to say he is going to talk.

really, he's been pretty quiet by his standards this offseason, but we all know it's just temporary, unless the Tuna tames him. he kept LT in check, but they have two totally different egos. LT wanted to win, TO just wants to whine.
