I see people all the time say "Well, in an election, choose the lesser of two evils.". What? It doesn't have to be that way. We should stand and fight, just like our forefathers did. Our leaders may seem militarily stronger, but if we make a big enough wound, the nation will look at us and wonder "Why are these people giving their lives to fight our government?" and thats when common sense will set in. I honestly believe a forced revolution will return this nation back to the people. Our social sytem is not too complex to recover from the shock of civil war, there are too many smart people, we would certainly recover in short order, we're americans. What do you say? Revolution?

Exactly elminster. they are too lazy and comfortable, and to this end will be their doom. We are no more than economic cattle. If a large gathering of enough people mobilized a strong enough force, not nearly strong enough to win, but stron enough to motivate the hearts of our fellow americans that they will give up that comfort for the future of their nation and its people. Then we will have the military might! I mean damn, man, how many would stand up against an army of theu own people trying to dislodge this screwed up government? I wouldn't! And Even the most conservative and most liberal citizens would see the good and hope in the movement.

I think we should have negative voting. We should votes for the person we LEAST want in that office, and the person with the FEWEST votes wins.

My theory: Let's say you have 200 voters. 100 are republicans and 100 are democrats. Of the 100 republicans, 55 will be right wing religious nuts. Of the the 100 democrats, 55 will be gay, lesbian, gangsta, thug, freeloader, whatever. The 55 right wing religious fanatic nuts will always vote for the Curious George's in the Republican Party, and the 55 people in some fringe group will always vote for the Gores, Clintons, Kerry's, Carters, Dukakis, etc.
So more often than not, we end up holding our noses and voting for the lesser of the two evils.
This leaves 45 moderate, thinking people in each of the two major parties (for a total of 90 out of 200) without much to choose from.
Personally, I'm libertarian, but I try to vote for the best candidate, no matter what party he/she is in. Sometimes, I just don't vote.
Hopefully, you folks can understand what I just wrote.

Jefferson would be ashamed of the American people. Alexander Hamilton would be smiling at the wonderful power of the Federal Government.

My ancestors surrendered the revolutionary spirit at Appomattox.

this is a debate that my wife and I have... I think the system is still fixable, as long as we can have campain finance reform and a public that is willing to accualy participate. My wife thinks it is time to kill the bastards and install a new gov. still up for debate, I think that the american people are too lazy to revolt, just to comfortable. Burn down the goverment, not today, American Idol is on tonight....
