If you had a virus software that let the trojan virus in and then switched to another virus software that states to clear up the problem, should that take care of it or once infected, you will always have problems? If so, what is the best way to "cleanse" your system?

Virus software must have its virus definitions updated regularly. So a virus software can only stop a virus infection, only if it has info to detect its presence.

If your other virus software has caught and destroyed it then it should be fine.

Regularly updating is a must, because new viruses are constantly being written and released into the net.

To be absolutely sure, go to Trend Micro and download its FREE CleanSys.com program and its Virus definitions and perform a thorough check. AVG7 from Grisoft.com is also FREE and provide regular online updating.

If you are concerned that the anti-virus software did not do the job of removing it,you can always re-format your computer. This is a very drastic step but one that does work if all else fails.
