Not much. We miscalculated. Has anyone read George Bush, Sr.'s book?? He clearly laid out exactly the sort of chaos that is currently destroying Iraq. I never supported Bush, Sr., but I have also never Monday morning quarterbacked his decision not to remove Saddam in the Gulf War.
He did exactly the right thing, and exactly the correct PRAGMATIC thing by ensuring that Saddam retained enough power to maintain control and to keep Iran from jumping in and starting a Shiite Rebellion.
Too bad Bush, Jr. doesn't read....

Actually, there WERE WMDs found--they were just widely dispersed.
So the invasion of Iraq has done the following:
--rid the world of a megalomaniacal, insane, unstable, cruel dictator;
--rid the world of large caches of WMDs--chemical, missiles, conventional, and otherwise.
--we have decimated one of the world's largest armies; with the potential to have threatened other neighboring coutnries.
--we have brought democracy to a region where the very concept was unknown
--we have upgraded that country's living standards to the 21st century--up from the 18th century; giving most people running water, steady supply of fuel (for cooking, transportation, etc.), and economic stability.
--we have liberated vast underclasses of citizens, enfranchising them with the opportunity to vote and participate in their own future.
The list is far more extensive than I have characters available, but suffice to say, we (under President G. Bush) have acomplished a great and lating thing, that will be known for centuries as the rebirth of the middle east.

It helped alienate us from the rest of the world. Now we have REAL threats like Iran and North Korea that can seriously cause some damage one day. We will wish we had all of that money and those resources back that we pissed away in Iraq to take care of those issues

Absolutely nothing positive. We are disgraced in the eyes of the world, appear incompetent in foreign relations, lack diplomacy and continue to give terrorists reasons to attack us. Watch the Fog of War and listen closely to Robert S. McNamara- he will tell why it is going the way it is, the parallels to the Vietnam conflict and what is at stake.It's all politics.....

Iraq was a potentially strong ally for all sorts of bad countries out there. Saddam killed people on the regular basis, which created tension in the country and abroad.

the only thing it is good for is to let us build bases in the middle east. we lost most of our bases in that area years ago, and we needed a place for more, thus Iraq. OH and it has made lots of money for the bush family (heavley invested in guns and oil) and for Cheney (halburton....nuff said) and alot of extremeley wealthy people.... Die for Oil sucker, while we make money on it. I guess that is the new american way.

Well said C B. CNN, ABC, or NBC are not reporting the truth...The truth they report on directly connects with Americans wallets....which they know most Americans take notice of....
Life vs money.....Most Americans......take the money and run.....
Thus said, the invasion and liberation of Iraq is doing everything you said....and you rock....
