Several.....and i'm still looking for my place, too.

I like the place i'm working right now.....but i'm really working there for strategic reasons, so i can have something current (and decent) on my resume. But i know there is no real future there, and the money isn't great.

After this season i am casting a wide net, and considering all options.

I've had a few . . .
When I was a teenager, I house-cleaned for people and babysat.
Right out of High School, I was a Day Care Teacher for 13 years. Changes were taking place at our facility, so I need to find something else.
Then, I moved on to a factory position for 7 years. Better money, but long hours and physically, it was very draining!
I gave up my life and moved two hours South to become a home-maker. Moved with my b/f (at the time and his boy).
Unfortunally, that didn't work out, so I found myself back home with no job, no life, no benefits, etc.
I'm a people person, so I took on the career of working with mentally-challenged adults. I started at a New Hope facility as a sub. I wasn't getting the hours I needed to make a living and I was lucky enough to be hired with the company I'm currently working for, which owns 18 group homes. I've been fully employed since October of 2005 and LOVE my job! A bit stressful at times, but I feel SO rewarded knowing I'm touching lives and helping others. We providers, are often their family and I've learned so much about how differently the individuals think, not to take things for granted and grateful for what I have.
Sorry this was a long drawn out answer, I just felt like sharing more than a "list" of jobs! So, to answer your question . . . I've had 6 jobs! I'm 43 years old.

If you're a "people-person", consider home health care or mentally-challenged provider. These positions usually can be done on hours of your choice. If you have children, this might help you with your already busy schedule!
Good luck!

I'm 39. I started working at 16 as a stockboy, then a salesman, manager and then at 18 I shipped off for the Army to drive tanks. I've done many jobs since I enlisted, but it has been the Army for 21 years. I can retire now, and will never have to work again. Best decision I ever could have made. For those wondering, I even volunteered to deploy during this war, but like almost half of us in the Army, we have not seen, nor will ever see combat.

I love what I do. I'll probably stay until I have 25 or 26 years. My fiancee loves the idea of me being in the Army and is looking forward to being an Army wife, including our military wedding.

I've had 19 jobs (maybe more.....I can't remember them all). I'm currently unemployed but looking for a new job. Don't worry, I can't seem to find my place in the career department either!!! It's hard to find a good job that's both fulfilling and pays the bills but I'll keep looking. Good luck to you!
