my pc is protected by AVG and on the last scan told me that I have 5 infected files..which it says are imbedded in the archive, and one trojan in there somewhere as well. AVG does not give me a way to get them out of there and I don't know how to do it otherwise. I am SO not techno savvy about this sort of thing and I need HELP.. NOW!! If you can help me with this, you won't only get the 10 points for best answer, but you will have my UNDYING gratitude for LIFE!! PLEASE explain it VERY simply for my un-techno brain to comprehend.. I am an English major.. NOT a computer engineer.. PLEASE and THANK YOU.

a couple of things: first, I don't NEED new protection against spyware.. that is not a problem.. second, I already HAVE AVG.. as I said in my original question! and finally, telling me to 'unzip' anything or to delete a file of some kind with no further explanation does NOT help me.. as I also stated, I am DUMB about this kind of thing.. I need plain.. simple. EASY TO UNDERSTAND instructions.. STEP BY STEP! ok? don't tell me to buy a different computer.. that is not an option.. there are infections..ok? Even I, in my computer stupid brain, know that these have NOTHING to do with spyware.

Try the thorough CleanSys.Com scan program from Trend Micro. Also download its Virus definition file. It's FREE.

Just start the program and let it do it's thing.

It will delete any offending Viruses or Trojans. If you know the name of your infected archive files unzip them first.
