20/20 did a report on "psychics" what they found out is that people forget what doesn't apply to them and focus on what is true.
If I say:
You're going on a trip.
Beware those who you think are friends.
A mysterious woman is about to enter your life.
Don't jump before you look when it comes to business.
You will meet a new friend this week.
Remember November.
A older man will show you a side of yourself rarely seen.
New ventures will be prosperious if started today.
One of those has to be right, and they are all vague enough where they can mean several things. This is what most horoscopes say, and if they get more detailed like a brown eyed, old friend who you loved very much will drop by today. Some people will still believe, and some won't.
People want to believe there are ways of seeing the future, because it takes some of the unknown element away from the future. However if you tell someone the truth that chances are tomorrow will be the same stuff, just a different day. You'll get looks like you're retarded.
Remember everything has a fifty/fifty chance of being true. It's either true or not.

9 out of 10 people do not understand what real astrology is. The columns you read in magazines are just generalizations of the sun sign for person's born in a certain month. For people to really believe in these is stupid, their mainly for entertainment.
But REAL astrology is much much more. Did you know that many US presidents consult REAL astrologers? This is true. Did you know that the US founding fathers believed in astrology? This is true. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin authored several Astrology books? This is also true, if you don't believe me look it up on the Internet. Did you know that that July 4th being selected as the day for our founding fathers to sign the declaration of Independence was based on astrology? This is true also. Did you know that many of the founding fathers were free masons and that is why all of the weird looking symbols out used on the back of dollar bills? This is true also.
I challenge you to ask this question of someone that has went to a REAL astrologer and had their individual horoscope chart cast for them, or better yet have it done yourself and then ask your self the question again.

People put their belief in things because tey feel insecure and without hope or guidence.
The trouble with horescopes is that they are based on the stars as they were a very long time ago.
The whole meaning of life might be written in the stars, but I doubt if any of us are smart enough to actually figure out the true meaning of anything.
Horescopes are fun and thats about it.

I guess it depends on the person...I don't understand them either, I mean why they were made up from where etc. but it seems to me that everyday I read mine it's right on. Kinda like when you walk into Church once a month, the Pastor is always talking directly to me. LOL , Who knows. What I don't understand is if its suppose to be all about the stars and stuff, why do people call it the devils work? That I don't believe.

Because they play on a person's desire to know the future. What makes it worse, is that horoscopes are intentionally made vague. Human nature is to look for something that proves what you think is right, not disprove. So, any inkling of truth, and the horoscope must be right.

They sometimes hit things going on in your life just right. I don't believe them, but it's kinda fun to see what they say is going to happen during the day and see if anything fits. You know what I mean?

The same reason they believe a man was raised from the dead. they feel the need to put their hope somewhere rather than investigate for themselves....
