"Catherin Bach" certainly was beautiful and not dingy...maybe the producers thought it would bring in more viewers/revenue by getting someone as popular as " jessica simpson"...

It's because she was popular at the time . With her music and her face was everywhere , soo the studio thought they could bank on her fame from MTV !!!!.. little did they know she doesn't act she was born that way !!!
