As a nation, have we subconsciously endorsed homosexuality?

We tell all of our daughters to keep their virginity, but tell our sons to be promiscuous. To whom will they sow their wild oats?

There's no "subconsciously" about it. It is openly endorsed. BTW I don't tell my boys to be promiscuous, but to wait until marriage. I wish more parents told their to remain abstinent.

Let me start by saying that I totally disagree. We have not subconciously endorsed the lifestyle, the people that could have kept it where it belonged (in-the-closet) are homophobic and in light of all of the talk about prejudice combined with their homophobic attitudes became scared and were not even backed by the church (they are into children, gays are still closet). The gay community has twisted the rules for minorities to help prevent them from servitude and plight unfairly and positioned themselves in the minority catagory. While in the homophobic state our capitalistic bureaucrats and wonderful people like Diane Finestein and others I could mention but the list is too long have let our moral community go to the dogs, why, because it is power for them. With the world in a constant state of distress these days the President of our country took time from the major events of the day to have his input in one of the most political hotpoints since right to lifers and the abortion issues that fuel the 24 billion dollar a year industry in child support services. Sure they want abortion to be outlawed and for no other reason than it fuels the pocketbook and so does the support of the queer community. They do not care the impact on our children any more than they know what is in the best interest of our kids, yet they hide behind the sayings unchallenged. Until we take our country back and shape it like our forefathers did it will continue and only become worse or until the money and popularity run dry. What a sad state of affairs. We haven't endorsed anything we have sat back and let the people running our country get away with all they have by not taking an active part in our government. It is easy to armchair quarterback but we do not even do that. We sit in our armchairs and flip channels to see how this came out and how that came out and then to soaps. That is how it came into being and the politicians of course endorse it it is votes. I did not endorse anything and neither did any of the people that voted. If we do not get it together you will see even worse things in the future.

Who tells their sons to be promiscuous? Well, I don't have any but I do have 3 daughters. My thinking is not all children have wild oats to sow. It has much to do with your upbringing whether or not you become a wild rebellion or have a touch of it. As for homosexuality I don't think we as parents endorse it by teaching our daughters morals and values. But, while reading your question you almost had me convinced. Your wording makes a good point I just don't agree with it. Thanks for making me think.

As a nation, we allow and even encourage freedom and expression of individuality, which includes traits that many people don't like or even disagree with. I think that many people who are openly homosexual in todays society would have hidden or repressed it in other times/places based on society's views and consequences. In order to maintain such freedoms, we have to allow those whom are different to express their freedoms as well.
