Obviously to support the multi-million dollars salaries paid to the players. The real problem is that there is no need to do this to the fans because the networks alone more than compensate MLB for the three day event. It floored me when I found out that the kids shagging fly balls during the home run derby are strictly volunteers. They don't even give those kid tickets to the all star game itself. There is no way the average fan can possibly connect with the players. In a word........Greed!! Great Posting!!

the league sets the prices not the teams,it's just sickening how Corporate North America has taken over the sporting event from the average working class fan who really enjoys the games,It'll come to a head very soon when "us" regular folks say "screw it,we'll just watch it on tv"

If someone game me tickets that would be the only way I'd go to a game at those prices. It's all about money for the owners

That's not right. It is after all supposed to be a family event. Corporate America

I agree with Georgie Porgie: I can watch it on my huge tv in my undies if I want, food is free, I have air conditioning, a comfy couch, and a chubby hubby to hold hands with! Why would I pay $1,000 ?!?!?!?!

Only the rich can go, the real fans will be getting drunk watching the games at home.

Whewwwww! I think I need a new career LOL and to think, that entire stadium will be sold out. Now we know why they're making millions.
