And I'm making a cd so that i can play so I won't have to listen to the radio (which plays every song of ours every 5 mins). What are some good "Go Girl" songs? Ones that are good after a break up? Any genre is fine.

Well, one song that I truly love that will get you over your ex is a song called Float On by Modest Mouse...it will lighten up your spirits. Also, try these other ones:

Better-Regina Spektor
Somedays-Regina Spektor
Gone For Good-The Shins
Find Myself-Rooney

I wish you the best of luck, and if you truly want to move on...then I know you can do it!

"I will survive"
AND
"Moving On Up"(written by Paul Heard and Mike Pickering, performed by M People)

Great to dance around the house to!
Here are some of the the lyrics:

You've done me wrong, your time is up
You took a sip (just a sip) from the devils cup.
You broke my heart, there's no way back.
Move right outta here baby. Go and pack your bags.
Just who do you think you are?
Stop acting like some kind of star.
Just who do you think you are?
Take it like a man baby if that's what you are.

[chorus]
'Cos I'm moving on up. You're moving on out.
Movin' on up. Nothing can stop me.
Moving on up. You're moving on out.
Time to break free. Nothing can stop me,
Yeah.

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone
Alanis Morisette - You Oughta Know
Those are two nice, slightly angry songs...
However, when people upset me, I prefer to listen to calm music, such as the Frou Frou and Ivy. I suggest them, especially "Disappointed" by Ivy and "Let Go" by Frou Frou.

I suppose "All I Really Want" & "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette easily qualify as 'go girl', and maybe are especially appropriate for venting, and expressing frustration, as opposed to sentimental, placating tunes.

Look up the Spice Girls, I think they have a few "girl power" songs. Sorry about your breakup, I'm still trying to get over mine.
