Both are just as crooked and mislead as the other, and independent is too broad of a term. Are there any other political party choices in America? It saddens me that our options are so slim, because all these people are the same, and just pretend to be different.

I see people all the time say "Well, choose the lesser of two evils.". What? It doesn't have to be that way. We should stand and fight, just like our forefathers did. Our leaders may seem militarily stronger, but if we make a big enough wound, the nation will look at us and wonder "Why are these people giving their lives to fight our government?" and thats when common sense will set in. I honestly believe a forced revolution will return this nation back to the people. Our social sytem is not too complex to convert from this shock, we will recover in short order, we're americans. What do you say? Revolution?

I was once told by a political science professor whom I still respect greatly that we are never given the choice between voting for good or evil. Rather, we are given the option between voting for different kinds of evil when we choose to vote either red or blue. Cynical perhaps, but it fits.

America is a country built upon the concept of a 2 party governing system. There is no realistic way for a 3rd party to become and stay viable in national elections. The sole independent in congress, for example, votes democrat (predominantly anyway). For any political party in this country to be successful, they must have representation that would equal or exceed that which is held by either the democrat or republican party. Logistically, and realistically, it's just not possible on the national level - however 3rd parties seem to work in local elections.

Ross Perot, for his noble attempt to win the white house in 92, only garnered NO electoral votes and barely 19% of the popular vote. You have to go back much much further (Teddy Roosevelt if memory serves correctly) to find a 3rd party candidate who even had a sniff at a victory.

My mom is a democrat, my dad is a republican, I have learned to hate both parties from the bottom of my heart. But I vote between what appears to be the lesser of two evils. They are not all the same, they have different opinions on "hot button" issues.

Libertarians are the biggest 3rd party today. And more Americans describe themselves as libertarians than ever before. But it's hard to think that they'll ever get the popular vote necessary to win the presidency. Lots of other 3rd parties exist, but many are just wackos, and the few legit ones are often rather extreme in their positions.

You're right -- it's all pretty much the same. A lot of people don't want to believe it, but they all have their own agenda, and it always seems to be at the expense of some group. I don't see anyone of any other politcal party being a viable candidate though.

people blame the party too much, it is the person. There are bad Republicans and Democrats and there are good Rebulicans and Democrats. People who get caught up in what party is what, need to relax and LOOK at the person

There are profound differences between the two parties. It is best to read as much as you can. Go to each of the party's websites and read their platforms so that you can make an informed decision for yourself.

Actually Democrats support gays. And that is one major difference between the two groups. If you ask me i think that gays and lesbians should be hunted down like animals and put on some island where they will kill each other or die trying to escape.I am a christian and am against gays and lesbians and so is Jesus Christ Lord God almighty.
