I was listening to the radio a few days ago and heard this song on a country station, it sounded kind of old. It was about a guy who worked at a car company and he took pieces of the car home each day and built his own car. He said it was a black car, so i'm guessing he was talking about a Model T. I've been trying to find out the name of this song for days and was wondering if anyone could help me? It sounded a little like Johnny Cash but i'm not sure.

It is a Johnny Cash song "One Piece At A Time". Recorded in 1976. Peaked at #1 on the Country chart and amazingly enough # 29 on the Pop chart.

I dont' know the name, but it was Johnny Cash and he was singing about a cadillac that he took home a little at a time and it was several years into the making. The video acutally shows the car and it is really funny.
