Unfortunately, yes- they are "mean", but only because they don't know yet how to act normal around a girl they like. They're just as confused as you are.
There are only 2 things you can do about it
1) corner this guy and ask him if he likes you. Make sure you talk to him in private- He probably does like you but does not want to admit it, ESPECIALLY in front of his friends, so make it easy for him to be honest.
2) vow that when you become a mother, you will teach your sons how to act normal in front of a girl they like.

Yes. unfortunatly it usually works that way. Boys are really dumb creatures that think like cave men. I like to call it the neanderthal stage. Eventually they will grow up (we hope, but that hasn't yet been proven!) and be nice. but for now, just humor them. Then, get revenge.

most of the time they make fun of you first then get into small fights with u then at the end..they love you =)
