I'm looking more for synonyms. There's a certain word that's on the tip of my tongue. The one who names it first gets the 10 points!

It all depends if he was very clean, then you could refer to him as "Paul's Grandfather." On the other hand if he was treacherous you could call him "Uncle Junior." However you could call him irascible, cantankerous,ornery,crabby or just plain CRUSTY.
