Clean up your e-mail site also on a daily basis and after deleting the items go into tools and there is a recover deleted mail tool, recover it and permanently delete it.
My work place is like the CIA now with so many spy networks going on that the system just half runs.

Your employer has what is called a firewall installed. This is a device that separates the local area network (the PCs in the office) from the outside world (Internet). One purpose of a firewall is to block traffic from the outside Internet from coming in to the local network. One of the functions of a firewall is that it will also keep a log of all websites visited by local users. Your PC at your workplace has a specific address to it called an IP address. When you go out and surf the net. Say to Yahoo.com. There is a log in the firewall that says IP address "192.168.1.3" (for example your PC at work) has gone to "Yahoo.com". For you the user there is nothing you can do on your local PC at work to prevent this log from showing up in the firewall. So to answer your question, Yes your employer can and probably does track your Internet usage. Whether your employer wants to do anything about it is up to them. Stay off of inappropriate sites at work and your probably be okay. Most employers probably don't care if you go to CNN.com or Google.

They may have a keylogger or some other spying program installed on the computer. I also doubt that you're connecting directly to the internet, so you must be going through some sort of router which can log activity. It all depends on how bad the employer wants to watch you.

Even if you are not logged into the office network (which is required to use things like file share, e-mail, etc), if you are still accessing the internet via their network (ie. connected to their network by network cable and that is your connection), yes, they can track your usage.

There is a box typically called 'fire wall' or 'proxy' on their network that acts as a gateway to the internet. It is common to have a logging turned on for liability and other reasons.

If it is a work computer, he still can see what you have been doing if the software is installed to do so on the machine itself.

Another good thing to delete is your accessed documents, right mouse click on the task bar and click properties, click the start menu tab, then click the customize button, then press the clear button next to where it says "To remove records of recently ..... etc".

If it is your personal PC at home, your boss can't do squat.

If you are going thru their router/firewall they can track everything that you do if they are sophisticated at all(certainly any bigger business). the only way to avoid this is to go through a proxy ( you can find them on internet; but this will still be suspicious in itself)
