The actor who played Wilson was waiting for the statute of limitations to expire when he first got the roll and really didn't want his face to be seen. After the time frame was up it had become a running gag so they kept it going.

You did see his face in the series finale...but before that it was an ongoing gag...kinda interesting to see what ways they'd find next to hide his face.

It's supposed to represent "the neighbor" that we all have. They made him kind of "incognito" as if to show that what he looked like wasn't important. It was meant for us, as the audience, to think that he could even be "our" neighbor.

possibly he has mouth maximum cancers, like those on our cigarette packets.- yet likely extra to do with catching the audiences interest, we continually choose what we cant have.- not that i choose wilsons mouth, that sounds ill.
