It really depends on what you mean. The Bible lists 2 events that are related to His Second Coming that you might be aware of.
First event is the rapture of the church, or the removal of the faithful ones from this Earth. Notice that this is NOT the entire Christian church of any denomination because it states that the sinner (from the word impish - or in latin impius) will not make it. This latin word means really disloyal; having no or too little regard for obligation - or the uncommitted to His calling. In Psalm 1, it lists two attitudes: first part, is the faithful, and the second part the unfaithful, that in the end will not stand in the congregation of the righteous. So He is speaking to the Church. Since everything in the Bible comes in pairs, to compare two attitudes: Cain x Able, Saul x David, Jacob x Esau, etc. there is in the Church, two churches (the foolish x the wise brides). This duality beautifully describes the encounter with Christ in the book Song of Solomon, chapter 2 (faithful bride) chapter 3 (unfaithful bride) which cannot find her Love SS 3:1. She is in bed (comfortable with what she has - see church of Laodecia (human rights) in the Book of Revelation, she too thinks she has it all - spiritually asleep.) She looks for Christ after the rapture but cannot find Him, and the rest is even sadder story about the end times and the unfaithful searching for Christ.
Now this event marks the end of the Grace period for the gentiles. That means the last chance for you and me to find and meet with Christ. About the exact time of this event, the Bible states that no one knows but the Father. The reason is that if it was known, the Enemy would woo us with so many promises in the day before that no one would leave - like he did to Christ in the desert. However two major concepts are necessary to understand the Bible: first, the reading of the "letter" of the Bible kills, but the reading of it in the Spirit gives life. So the Bible does not work by pouring over on it and try to reason with it, one must have revelation to understand the missing 3rd dimension on the page that comes only through prayer. Second, it is important to know that the time of God (Karios) is not the same as the time of man (which we measure with a watch) called Chronos. The latter is measured in calendars and the first is prophetic. You must know the prophecy and its fulfillment before knowing where you are. Using the Book of Daniel, the Gospels and the Book of Revelation, you can get a pretty good clue.
World wide events:
Third of the vegetation gone (yes), third of the fish gone(yes), third of the waters made bitter, polluted by a star call Wormwood (yes, wormwood is called Chernobil in Russian). So the first 3 events are completed, except for the thrid of the ships which are coming. But before then, the fourth trumpet (sign) will come. That is the leaving of the Church. So we are right before the leaving of the Church to be saved, in prophetic signs. The fig tree has budded in Jerusalem again (Gospels) that is the State of Israel in 1948, oceans are at a rage, and several other signs (could be here all day).
I would say that this event can come now at anytime. More realistically between 1 and 50 years, a tighter GUESS would be 2 to 15 years. It will come as in the blinking of an eye, no time for preparations and no warning.
The second event, the Coming of Christ for the Jews, will happen after the tribulation and after the other 7 trumpets that will announce the death of 1/3 of humanity and more (Revelation chpt. 8-19.) This indeed, as a previous answer, requires the attempt to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem (preparations being made), the appearing of the anti-Christ to rule the Earth. The number 666 refers to 3 powers in the hands of man (reason) the powers are unification of the World politically, religiously and economically. We are well on our way with all three. 6 is the number of man - humanist, opposed to God. The repetition 3 times, in Hebrew, means the ultimate degree. Christ will come back with the Church, his bride, to rule the World. Waiting for this coming and making life plans around it, implies that you are willing to live through all the problems this World can dish out, and if you survive, there is no Grace left for salvation, except for the Jews.
I hope this gives a glimpse of this discussion about the end times that is so confusing (poorly understood) to the church at large.
BTW, there are other philisophies and views about the time of the rapture of the Church (the truly important events for non-Jews). These views called pre, mid and post tribulation arise out of a "chronos" reading of the Scriptures. Some think that there will not be or that there is already been a rapture. Do not be mislead. The bad thing about being wrong with prophecy is that you will not be wrong: if you say "there is no rapture", you will not, by definition, see any. Best of Grace in your search.

While it does seem that there are a number of prophecies that must be fulfilled first, I'd like to say-- Even so, come; Lord Jesus! -- or, as I usually think of it (and I hope you realize I don't mean to be irreverent) THE SOONER, THE BETTER!
Amen....?

Well, we still have to have the Temple of Solomon rebuilt in the original spot, a seven-year peace treaty with Israel and her enemies, and the Anti-Christ's proclamaition as being God. So... I'd say at least 10 years or more.
