I would get the list of anniversary marks and see which item serves. Then go out and think of ideas that would be suitable - something sentimental, if possible, that will remind you of a special memory!
More ideas . . .
8 roses (different colors). Get on the net and look up meanings of each color of rose (there are many!) and write a poem to match the rose colors and tie it into your relationship.
Try buying 8 things that match his interests. If he's into baseball - get him 8 tickets (invite 6 friends) on the 8th, seats with the number 8 in them.
Give him coupons with 8 hours worth of free stuff - like a massage, pedicure, etc. Either you can do these things for him, or pay a professional.
Donate $8 to eight of his favorite chairites or $80 to one.
What's his favorite color? But him eight items in that color, like shirt, tie, socks, office supplies, anything that ties to his interests.
I hope these ideas are helpful to you! Good luck and have a very
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! : )

Traditionally this is the Bronze anniversary, but it is also the "linen" anniversary. If he golfs, get him a monogrammed golf towel or buy some satin sheets for your bed! With satin sheets, who needs bronze? Happy Anniversary!

Well, you could get a pretty number from Victoria's Secret and surprise him that way, lol, or you could get him flowers. Girls can get flowers for guys you know. OH! Chocolate, chocolate means I love you! Defiantly Chocolate. Maybe just an evening together would probably be great to him. Maybe you could get him his favorite candy bar and put it next to him B4 he wakes up. My guy loves that. But defiantly surprise him, they like that! Good Luck & HAPPY ANIVERSERY!! Luv~Carly

dont buy him something...surprise him with a weekend gettaway, i was gonna pick my husband up from work, have the kids with sitters for the weekend already, have everything packed and reservations already made in the smoky mountains...but 1/2 way through my planning i was put on bed rest for my pregnancy and couldnt travel, so canceled that idea...but i told him about it on our annaversary and he said he would have loved it...expecting to go home after work just to be picked up with kids gone for a weekend, and your going on a vacation together without him having to do any planning or packing...trust me he'll love it!
