Different doesn't mean better. The issues that country has run deep and a different name at the top isn't going to change anything. Action, huge risks and tons more changes are needed

Things did change under Vincente Fox -- but let's face it, you can't turn around a system that was so corrupt and make it lily-white in six years. The man did a wonderful job and made a good start. Will the new president continue it? I believe so. I know my Mexican friends were fed up with the previous regimes, and welcomed Fox. It's going to be a tough job, with such a slim majority, but I think they can do it.
Speaking of corruption, it isn't as though the US is pure as the driven snow, either. Part of it is corruption, but there's a lot of stupidity in there as well.

Mexico will never get it together. The culture is corruption. You can't change that.

Corruption in Mexixco is too deep seeded, as it is in the USA as well, but the Mexicans at least are more up front about it.

Let us create the space for vast improvements to occur in Mexico. Let us send our positive energy and prayers their way and watch the transformation unfold. Peace.
