You should have your parent talk to hers and you should go over there and do it in person. Tell them that this is a planned trip, reservations have been made and such and that one reason you wanted to go on this trip was to include your special friend.. Find out if her parents are punishing her for something that she did or if it for financial reasons or any other reasons. Just do it in person and that will help you find your answers because you see their expressions and they may be more likely to be honest and explain it if you show how much it means to you.

I would ask why your friend cant go with you to Baltimore then i would try to talk to her to see if you can convince otherwise and if that doesn't work then i would try to find a way to tell your friend calmly.
